Voki Ability Extension

First, I want to say I love Voki. This is really a great site! Okay, now down to business:

I want my Voki to be able to say more than a few words at a time. How can I extend the number of words she can speak? It there a premium service I can pay for that will allow me to make her read several pages of text? Thanks.

Voki characters can speak up to a minute of recorded audio, or text-to-speech equivalent (600 characters is the limit).

If this is not sufficient for your needs, you may want to check out SitePal, which is a paid service offered by our company (http://www.sitepal.com)
SitePal offers similar avatar playback capabilities, with more features and without the Ad placement on the player.

SitePal Scenes are limited to 90 seconds of audio (900 text characters for TTS). But unlike Voki, SitePal includes an API (programmer's interface) in Javascript, which allows you to string together several audios (or text segments) for playback. You could even play different audio for different visitors, or have the character speak different things depending on user actions on your page (i.e. rollover, mouse-clicks, etc).

Could you explain how I get the 600 text character allowance- at the moment I seem to be restricted to 160 in my voki text window?

Hi eddygon,

You can try typing up a longer message in Word (make sure to check the number of characters in Review > Word Count).

Then, just paste that into your Voki message box.
