That is what I figured but I thought it was worth asking. Unfortunately most schools lack such technological equipment. But I will definitely play around with what I have at home. Thanks for the tip.
To make the voice recording with a music background try the free software program "Audacity". You would just need some mp3 files, speakers and a microphone. There would be some overhead to learn it, but your students can do it. Locate a site with mp3 files with a liberal Creative Commons license to avoid copyright issues.
Or try a audio podcast creation software. I use Podcast Station but they stopped making it.
